Motorcycling: How important/good is it to have proper lessons?

It deffinatly wouldnt hurt....i never took it (im some what of a new rider myself) iv found it best to ride on some country roads that have some good curves in them..after i got pretty good at that i eased into the city now the citys nothing to me....which i always catch on to this kinda stuff really quick....but yea the course cant hurt..but just ease into it too dont try to do too much too quick
